Montauk Climate raises $8.5M for climate startup incubator

Description:

On March 20, 2024, climate-focused startup incubator Montauk Climate announced an $8.5M fund for nurturing talent and launching companies that aim to make a significant impact in the infrastructure, electrification, and climate adaptation industries. Co-founder and CEO Philip Krim believes innovative ideas in climate tech cannot grow and scale without more seasoned operators, a need Montauk hopes to address. Additionally, Evan Caron, fellow co-founder and CIO, identifies three key elements that founders need: 1) committed capital, 2) understanding of policy challenges, and 3) awareness of stakeholder competition. He believes Montauk can accelerate progress in these areas by building a network of operators and advisors with expertise in finance, energy, and technology. Montauk aims to position itself at the forefront of commercializing InfraTech and climate technology.
